March 17th- Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

Céad Míle Fáilte and Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! March 17th is a widely celebrated religious and cultural holiday. It celebrates the death of Saint Patrick who is credited for bringing Christianity to Ireland. He converted thousands of pagans and his influence was so great that one of his converts donated a barn for Patrick to hold his services. This barn is now known as Saul Church which is located in County Down. Saint Patrick lived here until his death and his remains are buried in the grounds of the church and a memorial stone marks his grave. To this day, the church is used for prayer and worship.
